Description

A Children's story about life on the farm in Canada.Concept is based on a quick and easy song with animal sounds and cartoon pictures of farm animals. Perfect for children to learn animal names and animal sounds. Easy to follow and spell the names of animals. The original melody and concept was written by my Mother: Ilene Hart. Probably written in the 1960's. I added a chorus and a bridge to the song, and that is the version that appears in this book Mom's version was a favorite of us kids and all kids who heard it over the years. I hope this book does justice to her original idea. It's never easy to adapt someone else's idea. Like Old MacDonald's farm, children can learn animal sounds and become educated about the life of a farmer. Animals include cows, horses, pigs, ducks, sheep, goats, hens, a rooster and a few others. Sounds are moo moo, quack quack, hee hee, baa baa, and so on.

Oh the cows and the pigs
and the horses and the hens
Were out at Auntie Eula's Place

All the little cows
went moo moo moo
the big bad bull
went moo moo too

all the little horses
went hee hee hee hee hee
out at Auntie Eula's Place

there were three little chickens
down in the basement
out at Auntie Eula's Place
down the stairs came a bad old cat
chased them chickens all around

Jimmy was upstairs and he grabbed the broom
And he chased that cat right out to the barn
Oh, that was a bad old cat
Cause he was gonna eat them chickens all up

down in the basement
down in the basement
down in the basement
they were down in the basement

the rooster and the ducks
and the goats and the geese
were out at auntie eulas place
hear the rooster cock a doodle doo
greet the Farmer "how do you do?"
all the little geese go honk honk honk
out at auntie eulas place
there's a big white house
and a bigger red barn
and a chicken-coop, pig-pen, ducks in the pond
the goats baa baa
and the ducks quack quack
and they all live together in the big barnyard.
