Force of Will is a novel based on a true story, about a man named Gil Oldfield who is a Financial Advisor by day, FM radio DJ at night. One night at the radio station he receives a phone call from his son informing him of an accusation by Gil's wife of criminal behavior on Gil's part. His son wants to know why Gil did what his son is sure he did. Just hours later, Gil is arrested, and within days loses virtually all his friends, his job, his bank accounts and all his money due to the elaborate story that began with his wife, Marta, and has already made its way across the country. Forced to the bottom of the deepest hole he has ever experienced, and left to fend for himself, Gil embarks on a course of recovery, healing, rebuilding, and discovery that, along the way, reveals some shocking truths about the motives of his accusers, and just how elaborate the purposely woven web of slander was became.



Tan Swiftwater has published various works, including musical compositions, under different names. Originally from New York, he lived in Sussex County, where most of Force of Will takes place, for over three decades, and now resides in the Poconos of Pennsylvania.
